European flax is naturally rain-fed, requires no artificial irrigation, uses significantly less fertilizer than cotton, and is cultivated without defoliants. Flax cultivation also supports soil regeneration and absorbs CO₂ as it grows.

Hørblomst (Danish for "flax flower") is our all-out celebration of the amazing flax plant that provides the raw material for all our products.

The design itself features the delicate flowers of the flax plant when it blooms in June and turns the European fields into a light blue sea. It is printed on a warm taupe natural flax linen background and the backside of the duvet mirrors the beautiful blue color of the flowers.

Is the horblomst design ever made on a white background instead of natural linen.: Thanks for asking, Teddy. Hørblomst is only available on our natural, undyed linen. The design is a celebration of the flax plant itself, and as such deserves to be shown on the beautiful natural linen it comes from. All of our other designs are available on a white background however.
I don't understand what the ties are all about. Wonder if the background color is a bright white? And is the blue on the underside of the duvet cover? Thanks - it's gorgeous to look at online.: Great questions, Mary! The ties are small fabric loops sewn into the inside corners of the duvet cover. They let you secure your duvet insert so it stays in place through the night—most inserts have loops in the corners, so you can tie the two together for a snug fit.. The background is not white rather it’s the natural color of the linen itself, which is all part of this design celebrating the linen plant from which all of our bedding is made. Yes, the backside is a solid blue. It gives you a versatile, reversible look and also matches beautifully with our Lyseblå sheets and pillowcases, which are available separately. We're so glad you find Hørblomst gorgeous online—and we think you’ll love it even more in person!
